30 year ANNIVERSARY – 1995 – 2025
The Information Centre in Babinda officially opened on Friday 10 November 1995, but was opened to visitors on 28 September 1995. Thirty years of volunteering was celebrated with a special morning tea on the 10th October 2025. Guests included a representative from Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ), Cairns Regional Councillor for the division, life members, previous and current volunteers. A special presentation of a painting of the Centre, donated by the member for Hill, was presented by the local artist. A great morning was had by all who attended. A morning of a lot of chatting about the changes over the 30 years. One of the original volunteers is still volunteering at the age of 90.
